Social Media

Be very careful what you write/communicate or download in e-mails, on your website, your blog, your personal page, etc. Those words and downloads could follow you for the rest of your life. Not only can people print out copies of what you have written, the information, even if deleted, can become a permanent record on your hard drive. People may lose jobs and relationships, and can be sued, arrested or jailed for information they have written on e-mails or websites.

Tips
  • Don't post anything on the Internet that you wouldn't want others to see.

  • If you are taking part in an online community, do not use your real name or a nickname that will distinguish your gender.

  • Do not give out any private information over the Internet like your mailing address, e-mail, or Social Security number.

  • Don't download, copy, or sell things that you found on the Internet that does not belong to you unless you are given permission.
